Prosperity and sustainability are directly interlinked with the aim of ensuring a sustainable quality of life for people. Erste Bank in Montenegro, being part of Erste Group, shares the common vision and has always seen their role and primary task to help people prosper and to contribute to a future worth living.

“Erste Bank is proud to be the silver partner of the first ESG summit in the Western Balkans. Having in mind that preserving the environment is a necessary prerequisite for sustainable development and a healthy future for the entire community, we have undertaken the commitment to implement the environmental protection policy and responsible finance principles for socially, environmentally and ethically sensitive sectors, and we are happy to support every initiative that leads us one step closer to a greener economy”, says Aleksa Lukić, President of the Management Board in Erste Bank Montenegro.

He adds that, as a financial institution, the greatest impact the bank has on the environment is through supporting the green transition and business activities of its clients.

“As an active and reliable partner to its clients, Erste Bank wants to support them in overcoming social and environmental challenges and in seizing the emerging opportunities. And in the process, be a role model for our employees and the entire financial sector. That is why our promise is fairness and balance in everything we do and that everything we do has to be in line with the environment, society and the rule of law”, states Lukić.

Erste Bank Montenegro is the silver sponsor of the ESG Summit and one of the main supporters.

“It is important to initiate the discussion about ESG topics on every level in the Western Balkans - economic, political and societal. By bringing stakeholders from different areas we strive to impact a future fair and gradual transition to a low-carbon economy in the region and to present responsible solutions for a more sustainable future”, states Biljana Braithwaite, CEO and Foundng Partner at Sustineri Partners, organiser of the ESG Summit.

ESG Summit is organized by Sustineri Partners, a consultancy specializing in ESG advisory, and Porto Montenegro, a marina and real estate development set within Boka Kotorska. The Summit is convened in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and Bloomberg Adria.
