A new chapter on the path to sustainable development has been opened for the Western Balkans region. The journey towards more responsible and greener business operations has started with the Western Balkans ESG Summit, the first major regional event devoted to sustainable development and dialogue on greater responsibility of the business sector regarding environmental, social and governance standards (ESG) in practice.
The Summit, held in April 2023 in Montenegro, has created a strong momentum. The event gathered over 450 participants representing 150 companies from the entire region and beyond, demonstrating their readiness to follow the new standards and modern practices in their businesses and engage the communities within which they operate.
Furthermore, the event has ignited a vital, high-level discussion on sustainability, with more than 70 expert speakers and over 100 C-level attendees, from Europe to the United States of America. The Summit has also garnered significant regional and international media attention, with coverage from over 40 journalists.
With the support of regional governments and EU institutions and contributions from worldwide renowned companies, innovators, business leaders, and the leading experts for ESG standards, we can demonstrate possible comparative advantages of our region for domestic and foreign investments.
The enthusiasm and interest went well beyond the borders of the Western Balkans. One of our themes is inclusivity, and we would like to welcome this, in practice and in name.
We are delighted to announce that we are expanding and becoming ESG Adria Summit.
We are thrilled that planning for next year’s ESG Adria Summit has already started. Stay tuned for more updates!
