The Government of Montenegro welcomed partnership with the Summit organisers, recognising the crucial importance of embracing the sustainability agenda for the prosperity of Montenegro and the region and well-being of all its citizens.

"The Government of Montenegro is dedicated to promoting sustainable development and improving the well-being of all individuals in the country. One important aspect of this commitment is the protection of the environment, which is achieved through responsible management and partnerships with socially responsible companies and initiatives.

In 2015, Montenegro joined the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a call to action to end poverty, protect the environment, and improve the lives of all people. The National Council for Sustainable Development and the Office for Sustainable Development of the Government of Montenegro play key roles in implementing these goals.

Recognizing the importance of sustainable development for Montenegro and the Western Balkans, the Government of Montenegro is supporting the upcoming Western Balkans ESG Summit in partnership with Sustineri Partners and other dedicated partners. This summit presents another opportunity for Montenegro to lead progressive regional initiatives and drive the development of environmental, social, and management standards in the country and throughout the Western Balkans.
