Regent Porto Montenegro, a luxury hotel in the heart of Tivat, supported ESG Adriatic Summit as a gold sponsor. As part of this event, Regent Porto Montenegro will present an innovative approach to tourism in Montenegro, based on sustainability, with the primary goal of protecting the rich natural and cultural heritage and promoting tourism development.
The ESG Adriatic Summit is the leading event in Southeast Europe dedicated to advancing the implementation of environmental, social and corporate governance standards (ESG standards). Regent Porto Montenegro will join a lineup of prominent leaders from the business, public sector, international organizations, and sustainability experts to raise awareness of key sustainability issues and identify best practices in the region.
"At the ESG Adriatic Summit, Regent Porto Montenegro will present a new vision of sustainable tourism, focused on preserving Montenegro's natural and cultural heritage, as well as supporting local communities and the tourism industry," said Kai Dieckmann, General Manager of Regent Porto Montenegro.
"Our focus is on empowering the community and preserving nature. We actively support the local community and provide support to public health, educational institutions, vulnerable groups, and conduct other initiatives aimed at improving social welfare. We recognize our obligation to address environmental challenges and strive to reduce our impact on the environment. Our approach to this goal is clear and measurable, as we have adopted innovative technologies and strict measures to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions and resource usage," added Dieckmann.
Regent Porto Montenegro is the recipient of the prestigious Green Key certification, which is one of the leading standards for excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices in the tourism industry. Last year, the hotel successfully reduced its total energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, reflecting their proactive approach to energy efficiency, greater sustainability, and responsible resource management.
Community support plays an important role in their sustainability strategy, as Regent Porto Montenegro actively supports and contributes to local communities in Montenegro.
"Continuing our established good practices and traditions, we are proud to have raised an impressive sum of 67,700 EUR last year through our annual charity ball. This funding will be used to purchase a digital mammography machine for the needs of the Tivat Health Center," explained Dieckmann. The fourth ball under the slogan "For Her", dedicated to women's health, aims to improve preventive measures against breast cancer by acquiring modern diagnostic equipment, such as digital mammography, which will significantly impact the lives of many women in Tivat and Boka.
Biljana Braithwaite, Executive Director of Sustineri Partners and founder of the ESG Adriatic Summit, emphasized that "tourism, as one of the leading and rapidly growing sectors of Montenegrin economy, as well as the region, must respond to global sustainability demands to ensure stable, sustainable, and responsible growth, which is ultimately important for the long-term economic prosperity of the region."
"Regent Porto Montenegro is an example of successful implementation of environmental, social, and governance standards into long-term business strategies and goals. We are proud that they are our partner for the second year in a row, and we will continue to learn from them about the new face of Montenegrin tourism," added Braithwaite.
The ESG Adriatic Summit will take place from April 24th to 26th in Tivat, under the slogan "Act Now for a Sustainable Tomorrow," and it will bring together over 450 participants from the region and beyond. This event is organized by Sustineri Partners and Porto Montenegro, in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and under the auspices of the President of Montenegro.
