The renewable energy company, Obnovljivi izvori energije (OIE), supported the the ESG Adriatic Summit as a platinum sponsor. The company "Obnovljivi izvori energije" was founded in 2021 as a joint effort of Sistem-mne and Simes Inženjering, both highly dedicated to green energy and sustainable development.
"From the very beginning, our mission has been to develop renewable energy projects and continuously assist in increasing the share of 'green energy' in Montenegro and the region. Our goal is to bring the latest and best technological solutions to Montenegro and apply them in the development of new energy sources that will further reduce the impact on the environment of our country and beyond. Support for the ESG Adriatic Summit, as a regional event focusing on topics such as energy transition and investment in renewable energy sources, is further evidence of our commitment to sustainable development," said Ljubiša Bošković, CEO of Sistem-mne.
The ESG Adriatic Summit, as one of the largest regional events, is the right place to showcase the best projects and innovations, and to stimulate regional initiatives in the areas of green transition, sustainable finance, and circular economy, which are significant for Montenegro and all countries in the region.
"The Summit is an excellent opportunity to present ourselves to Europe and beyond as a region, and of course to draw attention to how significant things are happening in Montenegro, especially regarding the green transition. The company Obnovljivi izvori energije is currently developing a solar power plant at the Prediš location, the capital of Cetinje, with an installed capacity of 227.8 MWp, covering an area of approximately 490 hectares, reducing CO2 emissions by 260 thousand tons," emphasized Natalija Radonjić, chief engineer on OIE projects.
In addition to the solar power plant, this company is also developing the Bijela wind farm project, with a capacity of 118.8 MW in the municipality of Šavnik, as well as numerous other solar and wind farms of significant capacities at other locations in Montenegro and the region.
As Radonjić points out, it is important to recognize and utilize the energy potential, as every country is as rich as it has utilized its natural resources of any kind.
Biljana Braithwaite, Executive Director of Sustineri Partners and founder of the ESG Adriatic Summit, emphasized that "energy transition has proven to be an excellent developmental opportunity for Montenegro, as evidenced by the fact that even during the energy crisis, some of the major investment energy projects were launched."
Braithwaite expressed gratitude to the companies Obnovljivi izvori energije, Sistem MNE, and Simes Inženjering for recognizing the ESG Adriatic Summit as a regional gathering that brings together numerous business leaders, companies, and a kind of regional platform for exchanging best practices, especially in the field of green energy transition, not only in Montenegro and the region but also beyond.
The ESG Adriatic Summit will be held from April 24th to 26th in Tivat, under the slogan "Act Now for a Sustainable Tomorrow," organized by Sustineri Partners and Porto Montenegro, in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and under the auspices of the President of Montenegro.
