Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka isn't just about numbers and transactions. They are about people and about understanding that a bank can be a powerful transformation force for the community. That's why it’s important that they have joined the ESG Adria Summit 2025 as a Bronze Partner. This shows a great deal of commitment to building a more sustainable and equitable Montenegro.

What does that look like in practice? It involves empowering households to make their homes more energy-efficient through green financing initiatives like the GEFF credit line. It means investing in renewable energy projects that will power a cleaner future for generations to come. It's about supporting those who need it most through social responsibility programs. That's where CKB is truly stepping up. The bank has continuously invested into initiatives that touch every aspect of life in Montenegro. This includes education, healthcare, culture and sports projects. In fact, over the course of last year, the bank has supported various CSR initiatives with over 373.000 EUR.

This is not for the purpose of ticking boxes on an ESG checklist. It's about the real impact these initiatives have on people's lives. It's about a young athlete who gets to pursue their dreams with CKB's support. It's about the sense of community that grows stronger with every project.

In fact, the bank has supported over 41 socially responsible initiatives in the last year. The bank actively supports projects in education, healthcare, culture, and sports, investing significant resources to improve the quality of life for Montenegrin citizens. Some of their key initiatives include:

  • Partnerships with foundations like “Čini dobro” to support youth and community projects;
  • Donations to support the construction of children's facilities and enhance social services;
  • Support for para-athletes through partnership with the Paralympic Committee of Montenegro;
  • Support for various cultural events, including the partnership with the Montenegrin National Theatre;
  • Providing free banking services to young volunteers of the Red cross;
  • And many more…

Tamás Kamarási, Chairperson of the Management Board of CKB Bank reflected on the partnership with the Summit: "As a leading financial institution in Montenegro, at CKB we recognise the role we play in promoting sustainable development. Financial institutions have a responsibility to not only provide financial services but also to drive initiatives that lead to environmental sustainability and social equity. This Summit is a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration, where we can collectively address the challenges and opportunities of a resilient and sustainable future for our region."

Besides the community, CKB invests heavily in its employees. Every year, significant resources  in the budgets are allocated for employee training and development. Furthermore, the bank prioritizes financial literacy programs and digital inclusion initiatives for the local community.

“In today’s landscape, financial resilience and sustainable financing are paramount. CKB’s green financing initiatives and deep-rooted commitment to social responsibility are key examples of how financial institutions can pave the way towards a more resilient future. Their presence at the Summit will significantly add value to topics we will tackle: sustainable finance and investment, resilience, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. Having them as partners, strengthens our goal to create a more resilient future for the Adria region”,  said Biljana Braithwaite, CEO of Sustineri Partners, organiser of the Summit.

Ultimately, CKB's story is one of progress. It's a story about how a financial institution can be a true force for good, driving positive change and creating a brighter future for its community.
